{"id":3785,"date":"2016-11-30T11:07:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T11:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/projects\/horsesforsources\/predictive-hr-tech-capabilities-i-hope-to-hear-about\/"},"modified":"2016-11-30T11:07:00","modified_gmt":"2016-11-30T11:07:00","slug":"predictive-hr-tech-capabilities-i-hope-to-hear-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horsesforsources.com\/predictive-hr-tech-capabilities-i-hope-to-hear-about\/","title":{"rendered":"Predictive HR Tech Capabilities I Hope to Hear About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;\" src=\"\/storage\/app\/uploads\/public\/583\/eb0\/262\/583eb0262e663768103943.png\" width=\"220\" height=\"130\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I know it\u2019s pathetic, but one of my wishes during Thanksgiving dinner \u2026 other than to avoid major indigestion, plus of course good health to all those I care about \u2026 was to learn what great things the HR Tech market\u2019s largest players were doing in the predictive HCM arena. This would clearly make my recently launched research effort pretty darn interesting.<\/p>\n<p>As this is clearly one of the more nascent HR Tech areas, I really don\u2019t expect to hear about an abundance of mature, robust predictive capabilities just yet.\u00a0 I do expect, however, that many of the large HCM \/ HRMS solution providers we invited to participate in the research will have a reasonably clear and compelling product strategy and execution plans around their product\u2019s predictive capabilities.\u00a0 Also, in my effort to take a read on this emerging capability area (the research\u2019s main objective), I\u2019m hoping to hear about HR Tech customer experiences related to leveraging these powerful capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Another recent <a href=\"\/blog\/steve-goldberg\/predictive-analytics-in-hcm-systems-20160722\">blog post<\/a> and Point of View (POV) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hfsresearch.com\/research?author=steve-goldberg&#038;show_images=1\">\u201cTime-to-Predictive Value in HCM Solutions\u201d<\/a> have also been published to support the launch of this research and provide more context.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the HR Tech Practitioner Trenches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I dabbled on the HR Tech practitioner side (around 20 years of dabbling), my corporate HR colleagues and I sometimes sat around brainstorming about how to possibly predict such things as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Which on-boarding aspects, if changed, could contribute to accelerating time-to-productivity<\/li>\n<li>What are reliable indicators of \u201cvery high upside\u201d in a candidate or employee\u2019s profile<\/li>\n<li>Will a job candidate, employee (considered for a new team or department) or a corporate acquisition target\u00a0be a good fit from a culture perspective<\/li>\n<li>Will changing an employee\u2019s job, manager or team have a positive or negative impact on performance, retention, engagement, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Will changing comp and\/or benefits plans to reduce costs adversely impact the company in other ways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These \u201cskull sessions\u201d often ended with the same seemingly rhetorical question (at the time): \u201cCan we ever expect HR Tech capabilities to help us out here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold; color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Bottom Line Regarding the Research Just Launched<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whether I\u2019m getting ahead of myself by hoping the above questions will ultimately be supported by HCM systems remains to be seen.\u00a0 But I remain hopeful that I will be hearing from some HR Tech vendors that such predictive opportunities are not only on their radar, but they\u2019re close to rolling these and other impressive capabilities out over the next 12-18 months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know it\u2019s pathetic, but one of my wishes during Thanksgiving dinner \u2026 other than to avoid major indigestion, plus&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3786,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[80,831],"tags":[132,410,411,414],"ppma_author":[895],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.5 -
