{"id":1920,"date":"2008-12-12T14:18:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-12T14:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/projects\/horsesforsources\/wsj-confuses-itself-about-outsourcing\/"},"modified":"2008-12-12T14:18:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-12T14:18:00","slug":"wsj-confuses-itself-about-outsourcing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horsesforsources.com\/wsj-confuses-itself-about-outsourcing\/","title":{"rendered":"WSJ confuses itself about outsourcing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just read a piece in the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/biztech\/2008\/12\/10\/outsourcing-not-immune-to-the-downturn-but-holding-up\/\">Wall St Journal<\/a>, which has me wondering whether many people actually think companies <em>buy<\/em> outsourcing like servers, or software licenses.&#0160; Companies outsource to reduce costs and access skills&#0160;and technologies they need to be more competitive.&#0160; It&#39;s also a tough, long-term&#0160;decision for many firms to take, and it&#39;s no wonder we&#39;re experiencing a slow quarter in deal activity as companies wait to see how the economy is going to shake out.&#0160; With IT budgets being reduced and pressure to take out more administrative costs, firms have little other choice than to explore outsourcing opportunities.&#0160; What the article fails to mention is the huge amount of evaluation activity we&#39;re seeing in the market right now.&#0160; How about asking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tpi.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TPI<\/a> et al. how many consultants they have on the bench?&#0160; My&#0160;sense is not many&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just read a piece in the Wall St Journal, which has me wondering whether many people actually think companies&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[48,53,81],"tags":[],"ppma_author":[19],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
